City of lights

Jerusalem dazzles with its first post-COVID tourist experience

Dozens of iconic Jerusalem landmarks are set to light up next week in the first tourist attraction to open in Jerusalem since the start of the pandemic. Jerusalem: Follow the Lights invites locals and global viewers alike to admire the illuminations, which are intended to bring levity and hope during these dark times.

People in the city can drive themselves around the installations, while viewers around the world can witness the lights from home via the Follow the Lights website. You can even become a piece of the art thanks to an interative projection on Chords Bridge, which will transmit messages and animations submitted by members of the public (again via the website) on Jerusalem’s largest LED screen.

Other locations involved include the Israel Museum, which will project pieces from its collections, the Tower of David and The Knesset. Live streams of the Israel Museum and Tower of David will be available on Jerusalem Development Authority’s social media (iTravelJerusalem) on Sunday 21 February, the day of the launch.
