The Big Jewish Summer Fete

All the fun of the fair in Highbury Fields

Enjoy a fun, free, family day out in celebration of all things great in Jewish culture this weekend as The Big Jewish Summer Fete returns for its third year running. Entertainment for all ages will spring up in Highbury Fields, north London, on Sunday from 1pm.

If you’ve got little ones you can keep them busy in the Kids Zone with puppet making, games, face painting and a bubble show. Or head over to watch the Crufts show in the Pet Zone featuring Islington’s finest fuzzies.

The more grown-up activities include poetry and comedy at Jewish Speakers Corner, Harif’s pop-up exhibition Celebrating the Sephardi Community in London and Krav Maga workshops in the Sports Zone. Alternatively, get all the family involved on the carnival rides, handling Jewish objects like a Torah scroll or tefillin, test your mettle in a Jewish escape room, and get kitted out in the kippah store.

And of course no trip to the fair would be complete without ice cream – kosher natch – and a bit of a boogie to some live klezmer music. I can’t think of many better ways to spend a Sunday.
