Not Only for Ourselves: The Jewish Council for Racial Equality

Dr Joseph Finlay discusses the history of the Jewish Council for Racial Equality (JCORE) as part of Black History Month. Founded in 1976, JCORE was the primary, if not only, British Jewish group campaigning for social justice, migrant rights and anti-racism. Learn about JCORE’s Black-Jewish Forum, which took place in the 1990s and 2002, and how Jews have fought against racial discrimination throughout history. Read more about JCORE in the Autumn 2026 issue of JR.
