As a young girl, Marika Henriques was hidden from the Nazis in a cellar in Budapest. Now in her 80s, she tells her story for the first time in a new documentary, the themes of which – war, migration and the refugee experience – are powerfully resonant today. Join us for an intimate screening of the documentary, followed by a discussion with Marika Henriques herself (via Zoom) alongside director Sal Anderson and Jewish Renaissance editor Rebecca Taylor.
This event is being held in conjunction with Kolnoa film club and West London Synagogue, and will be preceded at 6pm by a Yom HaShoah service and kiddush (bagel buffet), which guests are welcome to attend.
Venue:
West London Synagogue, London, W1H 5AU
Bookings for this event close at 5pm on Friday 3 May.
