Festival of Britain Walking Tour

Wednesday 23 September (2-4pm)

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Festival of Britain, we're delighted to introduce a new walking tour led by Marilyn Greene, founder of Walking Talking Culture. She’ll guide us through the Festival Gardens, which were created by Sir Albert Richardson in a heavily bombed site around St Paul’s Cathedral to form part of the 1951 festivities. We’ll then wander along the South Bank whilst discussing the lasting spirit of the Festival and the Jewish émigré designers involved in its legacy.

The tour will last approximately 1.5 hours; comfortable walking shoes recommended. Read more about the Festival of Britain in the Summer 2026 issue of JR.

Time: 2-4pm
Meeting point: 2pm @ Waterloo Station, London, SE1 8SW.
